Paytm FASTag port: Following regulatory steps taken by the Reserve Bank of India against the company, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has excluded Paytm Payments Bank from its list of 32 permitted banks for the service.
Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, City Union Bank, Cosmos Bank, Equitas Small Finance Bank, Federal Bank, and Allahabad Bank are among the other groups on the list of authorized banks.
This happens when the Reserve Bank of India placed limitations on Paytm Payments Bank, preventing it from taking deposits or top-ups.
What are the next steps for Paytm FASTag users?
After February 29, Paytm FASTag users with balances in their accounts can still use it, but they won’t be able to add funds or make top-ups.
“Please be aware that after February 29, 2024, you will not be able to deposit or add money to your Paytm Payments Bank Account/Wallet,” stated Paytm. But even after February 29, 2024, you will be able to withdraw money from your current balance without any restrictions.”
How to delete FASTAG accounts in Paytm?
To open new accounts, users must remove their existing Paytm Payments Bank accounts. The steps to remove the FASTag account are as follows:
- Enter your user name, wallet ID, and password to log into the FASTag Paytm Portal.
- Select ‘Help & Support.’
- Choose “FASTag Profile Updating Questions.”
- Select “I Want My FASTag to Be Closed.”
