Instagram is currently being used by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta to test their generative AI chatbot, known as “Meta AI.” Meta AI will be able to create poetry, create graphics, and respond to other queries with just a single text command, just like other chatbots available on the market. Remarkably, Meta has begun testing its AI chatbot for specific consumers in India and other nations as of late.
“Our generative AI-powered experiences are under development in various phases, and we’re testing a range of them publicly in a limited capacity,” Meta stated in a statement to Engadget, confirming the development.

The TechCrunch story was the first to notice the feature, claiming that Meta was testing its AI chatbot in the primary search bar. However, other sources indicate that the chatbot was visible in the Instagram direct message search bar. As per the Engadget article, by selecting the Meta AI icon, users were able to initiate a conversation with the chatbot straight from their direct message, akin to messaging a friend.
Remarkably, a number of people revealed on social media that they may browse reels on a particular subject with the assistance of the Meta AI chatbot, so they might not need to rely on Instagram search any more.
What is Meta AI?
At the Meta Connect 2023 event in September of last year, Meta AI was launched, and the corporation is dedicated to integrating the generative AI experience into all of its social media services, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
Meta AI is designed to provide seamless conversational interactions through the use of a custom model that is based on Llama 2, a generative text model, and research on Meta’s Large Language Model (LLM). Furthermore, Meta has teamed up with Bing from Microsoft to incorporate real-time information retrieval into text-based chats.
