NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has warned students and parents against rumours and fake information about upcoming CBSE Class 10, 12 Exams 2024. The Board on Tuesday issued a public alert mentioning various individuals and platforms spreading rumours about CBSE paper leaks and fake links for sample papers.
The CBSE board exams 2024 for Class 10 & 12 are scheduled to be conducted from February 15, 2024 up to March 13 for Class 10th and April 2 for Class 12th. The Board has made elaborate arrangements for smooth and fair conduct of examinations.
The CBSE has observed that some unethical elements are spreading fake information about paper leaks through various social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, X, and others. They are disseminating fake links to purported sample papers, falsely asserting that CBSE board exams 2024 will include questions from these sources. Additionally, there are instances of circulating fake images or videos of question papers with claims to provide them in exchange for money during the exam period.
“It has been observed in the past that during exam time certain unscrupulous elements make effect to spread rumours on YouTube, Facebook, X, Telegram and other social media platforms about paper leak to claim to have access to question papers of exams,” reads the official notice released by the board.
“These persons, group and agencies intend to fleece the gullible students and parents as they demand money in return. Such irresponsible activities also create confusion and panic among the students and public,” the notice reads further.
The CBSE is vigilant and active in identifying and taking action against those spreading fake news and rumours. The Board said it is is closely monitoring the situation with the help of law enforcement agencies to take stern action against persons involved in circulating fake news on social media platforms under various provisions of IPC and IT Act.
CBSE will take action against any student found violating UNFAIR MEANS rules and relevant sections of the IPC by spreading false information. Parents are urged to advise their children against believing in rumours and engaging in any activities that may disrupt the seamless execution of upcoming CBSE board exams 2024.
