Google Pixel 9a leaks: Expected to launch with Android 15, Tensor G4 Chip and 7 years of updates

The tech company is reported to have the Pixel 9a, the latest in its Pixel series which comes hot on the heels of announcing Pixel 9 with four models, including Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Official details remain scarce; however, a leak unearthed CAD renders detailing the design of the mobile phone.

According to Android Headlines, which collaborated with well-known leaker OnLeaks, design of the Pixel 9a signals a departure from the old camera bar ubiquitous to the Pixel brand. Instead, the new model has cameras flush with the rear panel in a sleek pill-shaped module within which two camera sensors reside.

The new design of Pixel 9a draws inspiration from the LG V60 ThinQ as it looks quite similar and uniform side bezels alongside flat edges to complement the overall look. Other than this look, the Pixel 9a could run on Android 15, which is to get seven years of software updates, similar to the previous iteration. The new operating system is said to be in the offing on October 15.

Performance-wise, the Pixel 9a will likely be fronted with Google’s Tensor G4 processor, which is significant since the Pixel 8a had it as Tensor G3. Expect similar specs to that of the Pixel 8a, which features a 6.1-in screen, 8GB of RAM, 128GB, and 4,492mAh, along with 18W wired fast charging.

The Pixel 8a is now available in India for the 128GB variant priced at ₹52,999 and was unveiled early this month. Its official debut will occur nearly during the same time next year.
