iQoo Begins Rolling Out Android 15-Based FunTouch OS 15 Update for iQoo 12

iQoo has officially kicked off the rollout of the Android 15-based FunTouch OS 15 update for its flagship iQoo 12 smartphone in India. This makes the iQoo 12 one of the first devices to receive the latest Android version, bringing a host of new features, enhanced customization options, and performance improvements.

Key Features of FunTouch OS 15

One of the standout features in FunTouch OS 15 is the AI Image Lab, where users can use artificial intelligence to enhance the quality of photos automatically and remove shadows from documents, while the AI Erase tool lets users remove unwanted objects seamlessly from images.

Improved User Experience

Optimizing performance, the update comes with a new system called Origin Animation that promises a smoother user experience. There is also a smart scheduling algorithm that should help apps open up to 15% faster when used intensively, and it should keep the device running smoothly even when it’s under heavy loads.

Customization Options

Moreover, FunTouch OS 15 boasts a redesigned and reshaped collection of over 3,800 visual elements, including new colorizations of the system colors, fonts, icons, and wallpapers. The OS allows users to personalize the full style of app icons in addition to adjusting the shapes and sizes of icons for full design optimization.

Gaming and Productivity Enhancements

For gamers, Ultra Game Mode has been refreshed with a sidebar giving quicker access to performance tools and social apps. For productivity, improvements have been made on the Link to Windows for easier sharing and syncing from one device to another.

Rollouts Ahead

iQoo will roll out this update to other devices in the coming months. The iQoo 11 is expected to receive this update by November, the Neo series by December, and early in 2025.

Apart from this, Vivo’s parent company has also announced that FunTouch OS 15 will start rolling out for some of these selected smartphones, starting from the X Fold3 Pro and the X100 series in mid-October. It will then continue rolling out for other devices in the Vivo V, Y, and T series until mid-2025.
