This month, Xiaomi has unveiled its next-generation foldable device and its first flip smartphone in China. Following Samsung’s launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 series, Xiaomi has ramped up its participation in the foldable market. Under the Mix moniker, Xiaomi’s new devices bring flagship features and a Leica-designed camera system, with the Mix Flip being a much-anticipated addition.
Features of Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Xiaomi Mix Flip
The Mix Fold 4 boasts an interior carbon fiber framework, ensuring robustness without adding extra weight. It’s also Xiaomi’s first foldable device with an IPX8 water resistance rating. The device features a 6.56-inch LTPO OLED panel with a variable refresh rate, while the primary display is a 7.98-inch panel offering 3000 nits peak brightness and adaptive refresh rate. The Fold 4 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. HyperOS is pre-installed on both devices, and the cover display includes a 20MP front-facing camera.
Imaging on the Fold 4 is handled by a quad-rear camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP portrait sensor, a 10MP periscope lens, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. The device houses a 5,100mAh battery, capable of 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Mix Flip, a new addition to Xiaomi’s lineup, offers enhanced usability and functionality compared to the Galaxy Z Flip models, thanks to its large 4.1-inch cover screen. It shares the same high-performance chipset configuration, ensuring top-notch performance. The cover display includes two 50MP cameras. The Flip is powered by a sizable 4,780mAh battery with 67W wired charging.
Pricing for Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip
The Mix Fold 4 starts at CNY 8,999 (approximately Rs 1.03 lakh) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, going up to CNY 10,999 (approximately Rs 1.26 lakh) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant. The Mix Flip is priced from CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs 59,000) and is available in three different variants.
