If a person has a confirmed train ticket but is unable to go for a genuine reason, they can now transfer the ticket to a family member, so saving the money spent on the ticket. It is important to note that the ticket transfer is only available to close family members, which include father, mother, sister, brother, daughter, son, husband, or wife.

To use this service, travelers must make a request at least 24 hours before the scheduled train departure. It is important to note that ticket transfers can only be used once per a person. If a person has once transferred a ticket to another person, they are not eligible for the service a second time.

HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR Confirmed TRAIN TICKET

  • Take a printout of the ticket.
  • Carry the Aadhar Card or Voter ID card of the person to whom you wish to transfer the ticket.
  • Head to the reservation counter at your nearest railway station.
  • Apply for the ticket transfer.

According to Indian Railways standards, the timing for submitting a ticket transfer request may vary depending on the situation and the individual concerned.
