You can use a two-stage process in Microsoft PowerPoint to change the export resolution. Using the system registry, you must first modify the exported slides‘ default resolution option. How To Change the Export Resolution Setting
A PowerPoint slide’s default export resolution is 96 dots per inch (dpi). Take these actions to increase the resolution:
- Select Run via a right-click on the Start button located at the bottom left. or Press Win + R
- Enter regedit in the text field, then click on OK.
- A control window now appears, requiring you to verify that modifications are allowed. To proceed, select Yes.
- You can click the + sign to expand any of the folders that are visible in the window that has now appeared. Please don’t let the strange folder names bother you! Depending on the version of PowerPoint you are using, search for one of the following registry folders now (you can expand the folders in a certain order or enter the path in the navigation text field):
- PowerPoint 2016, 2019, and PowerPoint for Office 365:

- Click the Options folder, select Edit > New from the menu bar, and then select DWORD value (32-bit).
- In the text field, type ExportBitmapResolution and hit Enter.
- Make sure that the ExportBitmapResolution entry is selected, then click on Modify in the Edit menu.
- In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, select Decimal.
Set the resolution to 300 in the Value data box. Or, make use of the parameters listed in the table below.

It is possible to enter values as high as 1000 dpi in concept, but only if you are using PowerPoint 2013 or later.
Click OK to save the settings. Close the window, at last.

Step 2: Export slides as images in PowerPoint
Open your presentation in PowerPoint, then choose the slide that you wish to export.
- Go to the File tab
- . Now select Save As.
- Choose one of these image formats from the Save as type box:
- GIF Graphics Interchange Format (.gif)
- JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg)
- PNG Portable Network Graphics Format (*.png)
- TIFF Tag Image File Format (*.tif)
- Device Independent Bitmap (*.bmp)
- Windows Metafile (*.wmf)
- Enhanced Windows Metafile (*.emf)
- Select Save. You will be prompted by the following dialog box:
- Choose Just the Current Slide. The slide is saved in the location you indicated in the Save in box, with the updated format and resolution.
- Right-click the image and choose Properties to confirm the slide is saved at the resolution you want.
