The NBA started allowing teams to keep the championship trophy after revamping it for the 1977 Finals. To ensure that the winners could keep their money, the league designed a new trophy each year.  

– Awarded to the winner of the NBA Finals. – Designed and manufactured by Tiffany & Co. since 1977. – Teams get to permanently keep the trophy they win (a new one is made each year). – Current design is 25.5 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds. – Redesigned slightly in 2022 with a focus on the league's future and space for future champions.
