You can easily make modifications to the name that is registered under your PAN Card if you have any problems. Making changes to the name that appears in your PAN is not complicated. There are offline and online techniques available for PAN Card rectification. You can use this step-by-step approach to modify or update the name on your PAN card.
How to Update or Modify Your Name on a PAN Card: Online
Step 1: Go to https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html with any web browser.
Step 2: Choose “Apply Online” on the new screen, and then tick the box next to “Changes or correction in existing PAN Data/Reprint of PAN Card (No changes in existing PAN data).”
Step 3: Click on Category and choose “Individual.” Proceed by entering the necessary information:
- Name or last name
- Initially named
- Birthdate Email Address
- Status as a citizen (whether you are an Indian citizen)
- PAN Number
Step 4: Select “By submitting data to us and/or using our NSDL e-Gov TIN website” to indicate your agreement to the information statement after entering all the required information.
Step 5: After entering the Captcha code as it appears, click “Submit.”
Step 6: Following the completion of the form, an email address you have supplied will be used to send you a confirmation message along with a Token Number. We appreciate your use of the NSDL e-Gov online PAN application service. With Token Number xxxxxxxxx, your request has been successfully registered, and an email confirming this has been sent to the email address you supplied in the PAN application.
Step 7: In order to move further, click “Continue with PAN Application Form” at the end. After that, the online PAN application page will be displayed to you.
Note: To continue, follow to the on-screen directions. Click “Photo Mismatch” or “Signature Mismatch” on the page if you need to update the photo or signature on your PAN.
A receipt sheet will be generated after all information has been entered and payment has been made. Print it off and mail it to the NSDL e-gov office together with a physical proof of papers.
How to Update Your Name on a PAN Card: Manually
Step 1: Download the PAN Data Form and request a new PAN Card or Changes or Correction.
Step 2: Fill out the form completely, ensuring that all fields are required.
Step 3: Cover supporting documentation, including proof of identification, proof of address, and passport-sized photos.
Step 4: The form should be sent to the nearest NSDL collection location .
Step 5: Pay the relevant fees offline for updating or correcting your PAN card. You will be given a 15-digit acknowledgement number after payment, which you can use to check on the progress of your PAN Card application.
