WhatsApp Tests 'Reply Bar' Feature For Status Updates

WhatsApp continues to enhance its user experience by introducing new features, and the latest addition on the horizon is the reply bar for status updates. This feature, currently in beta testing, aims to simplify interaction with other users’ status updates. As reported by WABetaInfo, the reply bar will be consistently visible, eliminating the need to swipe up to access the reply menu. It bears resemblance to Instagram’s functionality, where users can directly reply to stories.

The reply bar for status updates will be available for both Android and iOS users. Android users can access it by installing the latest beta version from the Google Play Store, while iOS users can find it in the TestFlight app. Since it has already reached the beta stage, it is anticipated that it won’t be long before this feature becomes available to all users.

In other news, WhatsApp is introducing support for “view once” audio messages, which disappear once they have been heard. This feature complements the existing capability to send “View Once” photos and videos. By enabling audio messages to auto-destruct after playback, WhatsApp aims to provide an additional layer of privacy for its users.

WhatsApp’s commitment to improving its platform with new features demonstrates its dedication to offering an enhanced user experience. The reply bar for status updates and the “view once” audio messages feature are expected to further enhance communication and privacy within the app.
